POKOTABI / Gonya
ゴン屋
At Gon-ya, an izakaya in Minami-Koiwa, guests can enjoy everything from its popular, tender reba-toro and fragrant skewers to small plates and Vietnamese dishes such as fresh spring rolls. It is a welcoming spot to drop by for both lunch and evening visits.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Tucked along a lane in Minami-Koiwa, the izakaya Gon-ya first catches diners' attention with its signature reba-toro. With a moist texture, no offal odor, and a melt-in-the-mouth finish, it is widely enjoyed as the ideal match for a cold beer.
The selection of grilled items is also substantial, and the five-skewer assortment—featuring varieties such as kawa (skin), bonjiri (tail), momo (thigh), and negima (chicken and scallion)—is an easy choice to order seasoned with either salt or tare sauce. The yakiton selection also includes ami-reba—pork liver wrapped in caul fat and grilled until juicy—and a mixed grill that can be enjoyed without having to take meat off the skewers, with their fragrant, freshly grilled finish pairing naturally with drinks.
In addition to izakaya staples like edamame, simmered offal, and fried corn, the menu also features authentic Vietnamese dishes such as fresh spring rolls, adding a distinctive touch to the lineup. The restaurant is open for lunch, and with no evening table charge, diners can comfortably drop in for a quick solo drink or linger over a meal in a group at their own pace.
